Taking time for your own self-care through Melt, meditation, movement, reading a magazine or even adult coloring is not selfish, nor is it a luxury. It is nourishment for our soul, a salve for the parts of us that need to be loved. As the days get warmer and the light stays with us longer, I hope you will take time to play and relax. I hope to encourage you to make time for yourself. You don’t need to do anything to deserve it and there isn’t some perfect time that will come along later. It’s right now; this is the perfect moment!

DIY All-Natural Bubble Bath
- 8 oz grated soap or soap flakes *
- 2 tbsp witch hazel
- 1 1/2 cups sweet almond oil
- 1 1/2 cups of filtered water
* If you use soap, make sure you use an un-perfumed, pure soap. I suggest a Castille soap, which you can find at Trader Joe’s or Whole Foods.
DIRECTIONS
- Put the water on to boil in a stainless saucepan and melt the soap flakes.
- Place the almond oil and witch hazel in a blender and blend well.
- Slowly add the soap mixture to the blender.
This will make a large container of bubble bath. Decant it into empty washed-out bubble bath or shampoo bottles. I used two bottles for mine so Lola and I had one each. You will need to shake well before each use. If you don’t intend to use it up within a week or so, refrigerate for up to 1 month.
Relaxing Bath: I added the following essential oils to my bottle: 15 drops of Sandalwood, 10 drops of Chamomile, 5 drops of Vetiver
Sleepy Time Bath: Lola added the following oils to her bath: 15 drops of Chamomile, 10 drops of Ylang Ylang.
Romantic Rose: 15 Geranium, 10 drops Lavender, 10 drops of Rose essential oil. You might want to add some real rose petals to your bath for this one! (Keep in mind that most really bubbly baths use SLS and other harsh chemicals to produce those insane bubbles. This won’t bubble as much, but will not harm/ dry out your skin or your health in the way that commercial bubble bath products do.)
You can find all your essential oils at Mountain Rose Herbs.
